Restaurants and pubs near the park
If you are at Postman’s Park, it is not going to take all day to explore the area and you might want to take things up a notch. There are locations nearby that can take care of your eating and drinking needs if you don’t mind spending a bit of money. Some pubs and restaurants just a short walk away from the park include the following:
- London Wall
- Club Gascon
- Old Red Cow
- Hand & Shears
These popular London restaurants all vary in price and style but are worth considering if you are in the area of the park anyway. There are the usual type of chain restaurants nearby too if you fancy something cheaper, including McDonalds, Burger King and KFC.
If you want to experience a little more history during your time in London, Postman’s Park certainly has that. There is a monument in the park which was put in place many years ago by the painter GF Watts. This thoughtful monument is dedicated to ordinary people like you and me but these people have gone above and beyond, sacrificing their lives for other people. There are sometimes celebrations in the park with talks about the monument where people can show their respect for those who are honoured by a variety of plaques.
